What is Spam?
Beyond the ever-so-recognized scrumptious party meat (to some, we understand),
spam is email that is commercial in nature, not requested by the recipient,
and/or sent without a prior business relationship.
Spamming hurts legitimate email marketers by diluting the effectiveness of
email as a marketing medium. So don't spam, period. Are you spamming?
You can be sure you aren't spamming by ensuring the following:
1.
Ensure that you are sending email to only to those who have requested to
receive it (that is, opted-in).
2.
Ensure that you are not using purchased lists of ANY kind.
3.
Ensure that you are not sending to distribution lists that forward your email
to a variety of email addresses.
4.
Ensure you are using your valid email 'originating' address.
5.
Ensure your subject line does not contain false or misleading information. Be
true to your content.
6.
Ensure you have a working unsubscribe link in your email.
